This full day training session is aimed at individuals with responsibility for implementing safer recruitment processes in their organisations, whether local authorities, children’s charities, community groups, churches or other organisations providing service to children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable. Its purpose is to explore how you can most effectively put into practice a range of processes and practices to help make your organisation safer for the client group and people you serve. The day is made up of 4 key sessions.

Session 3: Making the Right Decision

Session 4: Developing Safer Cultures

By the end of this course participants should:

  1. Be able to identify the key features of staff and volunteer recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people.
  2. Have a sound understanding of policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting.
  3. Have begun to review their own and their organisation’s policies and practices in recruitment with a view to making them safer.
