This course is designed Specifically for safeguarding coordinators and those who hold lead responsibilities for safeguarding both children and adults within their church, organisation or charity. The course builds upon the learning gained from attending our core Facing the Unthinkable courses and there is an expectation that those who attend this course have already completed basic safeguarding training whether with CCPAS or elsewhere.
The course addresses the need for safeguarding coordinators/leads to have an enhanced awareness of safeguarding within a faith group context over and above that of staff or volunteers for which they are the point of contact. The course explores the following
A committed Christian, Lace has extensive knowledge and skills in: Social work practice across children and adults, namely in child protection and safeguarding. This has been gained through a number of roles and opportunities including: Independent Management Review writer for Serious Case Reviews (IAR), subject matter expert and Head of Service for social care learning and workforce development. Strategic leadership and management of Education Safeguarding in a large rural authority. Lace has also held a professional advisory role within a number of local authorities and LSCBs with experience of managing both people, resources and practice - MASH and when undertaking a Safeguarding and LADO role.
Lace is qualified to an advanced level, holding both a Masters Degree and Advanced qualifications in Social Work and Inter-professional Social Practice as well as a CIPD Post-Grad Certificate in the Psychology of Organisational Development and Change. Lace is currently reading for her PhD in Leadership and Identity.
