ABOUT THE EVENT 1

The aim is to assist places of worship and other faith and non-faith based organisations to develop a broad but sound understanding of the safeguarding task. The training is designed to equip attendees with the necessary tools to create robust safeguarding arrangements based on the CCPAS Staying Safe and Secure 10 Standards. The course will benefit trustees, leaders and those who work or volunteer directly with children such as crèche workers, children and youth workers and in addition, those working in adult ministries for example debt advice centres, counsellors, prayer ministries, street pastors etc.

Lace - Jackson

A committed Christian, Lace has extensive knowledge and skills in: Social work practice across children and adults, namely in child protection and safeguarding. This has been gained through a number of roles and opportunities including: Independent Management Review writer for Serious Case Reviews (IAR), subject matter expert and Head of Service for social care learning and workforce development. Strategic leadership and management of Education Safeguarding in a large rural authority. Lace has also held a professional advisory role within a number of local authorities and LSCBs with experience of managing both people, resources and practice - MASH and when undertaking a Safeguarding and LADO role.

Lace is qualified to an advanced level, holding both a Masters Degree and Advanced qualifications in Social Work and Inter-professional Social Practice as well as a CIPD Post-Grad Certificate in the Psychology of Organisational Development and Change. Lace is currently reading for her PhD in Leadership and Identity.

• The role of the safeguarding coordinator
• Responding to concern or suspicions of abuse
• Responding to a disclosure of abuse
• Understanding the role and responsibilities of the statutory authorities
